SOR ultrasonic: When filling a lime tank, the level is very fluid and the atmosphere very dusty. After a few days, the level becomes solid and the dust disappears. SOR’s Ultrasonic unit, with its adaptable gain, can correct these situations automatically without support from a technician as we used to see in the past with conventional ultrasounds. Its low frequency technology allows it to work in tanks that exceed 100 feet in height without any problems. This ultrasound unit is not affected by dust or steam thanks to the low frequency ranges available.

Quality control during the filling of the bottles is done with weight measurement. Hardy, with his anti-vibration system, allows you to read with great accuracy the weight of the bottles and thus increases the speed of the weighing. Hardy, by measuring the weight, validates the number of bottles in each of the boxes. The information can be measured and transmitted to the control room by wireless LSI modules.

In mines, underground ventilation is done with gigantic surface fans. When the ore is detonated to extract it, the blast of the explosion rises to the surface following the surface air supply lines. The breath can damage the blower propellers when passing. By installing a vibration sensor, it is possible to perceive the force of the explosion that goes back to the fan and thus reducing it’s speed in order to reduce vibration. Once the breath is passed, the vibration decreases and the fan can regain its initial speed without any damage.

It is very difficult to measure the level of metal on a conveyor because the products vary and are generally very abrasive. A wireless station is placed in the loader for the operator, another one within the building to receive the order and repeaters can be placed at strategic locations in the ore yard to counter obstacles to the wireless transmission thread.

Furnace loading for melting is done with ore weight measurement on conveyors. This measurement must be done quickly and accurately to optimize metal production. It is often very difficult to keep the wiring in good condition in this type of environment, which is why the transmission of information by LSI wireless modules greatly improves efficiency.

Foxboro Oleo tank: In the Oleo tank application, the continuous Foxboro pressure transmitter replaces a float system with 10 output contacts. We take the continuous reading of the Foxboro pressure transmitter and bring the signal into a 10 output contact programmable 129 VDC digital indicator. This system is distinguished by its superior accuracy, lower cost, longer life and requires little maintenance.

Drexelbrook Probe: Drexelbrook’s RF Admittance continuous probe is excellent for measuring the oil level in turbine bearings in hydropower plants. The continuous measurement is very accurate and is not affected by high magnetic fields. In addition, this system is designed to last beyond 25 years without failure. It is reliable and maintenance-free.

Water level reading of power stations.

Dimetix lasers: The laser is used to read the level before and after the hydro-electric power plants. These are high-precision systems designed to protect the overflow and too low water currents. They are used to regulate the flow of water.

Oil tank derivative level measurement.

Drexelbrook System: Drexelbrook’s RF admittance continuous system is excellent in this oil application for its resolution, accuracy and longevity. This system is a guarantee of stability for this very long term application.

Turbine water flow measurement.

Foxboro Vortex: Each turbine in hydro power plants is equipped with a water line to check whether the flow and the water passes or if the duct is obstructed. This measurement is done with a magnetic flow meter or a Foxboro vortex. The two technologies have a very long durability and generate little or no maintenance.

Water level reading of power stations.

Elpro Wireless Systems: For some dams, reading the water level should be done at a distance away from the dam. The wireless system allows Elpro to forward the information to the power station while being independent of power with its battery and solar panel. This system also helps prevent if boats come too close to the dams.

Drexelbrook Level Switch: Water columns are designed to absorb excess water reaching the turbine. To indicate the excess of this column, an RF admittance Drexelbrook probe is used as a switch. This sensor requires no maintenance thanks to its anti-clogging system.

OSI Consumption Reading: is possible to read the energy consumption of the water tank using OSI’s current converter with integrated analog output signal. This allows better use of hot water in the day for commercial and government buildings.

Elpro & Microhard Wireless Transmission: Plants must communicate information to each other and because of their very large areas, this information is performed by wireless transmission. Wireless communication also allows to read meters remotely without having to send a technician. With the same system, it is possible to transmit consumption readings of meters when they are not easily accessible.

Level Switch in aggregates.

Drexelbrook Level Switch: Cement is made up of a multitude of different aggregates. The detection of high or low levels is accomplished with Drexelbrook RF admittance level switches that offset the deposit of dust and particles in the air generated by the process and material handling. This increases the lifetime of level sensors and significantly reduces the periodic maintenance normally required.

Temperature measurement of a Kiln.

Elpro Wireless systems: Rotary ovens, or Kilns, require precise control of the internal temperature. Formerly, we used copper rings with shoes as a contact called “ Sleeping Ring“. This system is very costly in maintenance and is now replaced by wireless systems like Elpro and OleumTech. Wireless systems are not energy intensive and require very little maintenance.

Rotating oven temperature measurement.

Williamson’s Infrared Pyrometer: Williamson’s infrared pyrometer for the oven temperature detection installed in the flamme side can read the bed of the rotary kiln without being affected by the flame. In addition, the pyrometer can read through certain gases contained in the rotary kiln such as H2S which is seen as a wall for some infrared pyrometers. Williamson allows greater accuracy of reading and better control.

Plugged Chute Detection.

Drexelbrook sensors: For plugged chute applications, Drexelbrook has a switch plate RF admittance that is installed in the chutes and is the same level as the walls. Thus, this system can not obstruct the process and can not cause blocking. This probe also has the anti-clogging Drexelbrook system and requires no maintenance.

Quarry lake level reading.

Drexelbrook & SOR hydrostatic probes: The hydrostatic sensor can give real-time lake levels and control the pumping of water. This reading is critical for quarries and is very often transmitted to the control room with wireless systems like Elpro and OleumTech.

Carbon balance mixer weight measurement.

Hardy scale & LSI: During the preparation of the carbon recipe blender, the Hardy scale is very useful to measure the weight of the different powder components used in the recipe. Its anti-vibration system allows it to accelerate this mixture accurately and increase the pace of production.

Aluminum ingots level measurement.

Dimetix laser: At the finished stage, aluminum ingots have become solid and its color matt. It is very easy to measure their heights with a non-contact Dimetix laser to check their sizes before shipping. The laser is useful in this application because the ingots are generally still very hot.

Vibration measurement of bearings of the rotary kiln.

Wilcoxon Vibration transmitters: The bearings are huge and very critical on rotary kilns. It is therefore important to read the vibration in real time. Analog output Wilcoxon Vibration transmitters remain a very economical solution and can carry the signal over long distances without compromising the accuracy of it.

Anode weight measurement.

Hardy scale & LSI: When the anodes are molded and transported suspended on a conveyor, a conveyor section is converted into a scale to ensure quality control of the weight of anodes delivered to production. Hardy scales are adapted perfectly to read the weight without the vibrations generated by the suspended transport of anodes and thus gives the exact value of the weight of the anodes.

Conveyors weight measurement.

Hardy scales & LSI: In aggregates, asphalt and stone transportation, conveyors are used as a common means of transport of raw materials and finished goods. The measurement of weight on the conveyor is the most common way to measure the product. Hardy scales, with their anti-vibration systems, give an accurate reading of product weight that allows a uniform and repetitive dosing. This measurement can, thereafter, be wirelessly transmitted by way of the LSI modules.

Flame detection of the rotary kiln.

Iris System: Each burner from which emerges a flame must be equipped with a flame detector. Iris has a high-performance system that can detect the flame in several ways. The flame detector can combine the infrared and ultraviolet technologies in the same detector and is also equipped with a gas explosion frequency detector on the burner. It is very effective in eliminating other flames in a multi-flame system.

Point level measurement.

The X90 Point Level Monitor detects the presence of material at a given point in a tank, hopper, chute or process pipe. All components are mounted externally to the process vessel making the system ideal for monitoring the most dangerous materials such as caustic, toxic, corrosive, explosive and carcinogenic irrespective of their temperature. The modular design is ideal to upgrade older systems while keeping the existing sources.

Level measurement in tanks.

Dimetix & Optech lasers: In quarries, there are often reservoirs or aggregate piles that are huge. The laser is the best technology for reading the level of these piles. The laser is also the only technology that can read the level at an angle. The Optech laser is very good in dust-related applications.
